About the event

A NOTE OF REFLECTION

Thank you all for joining us for a truly whimsical day sharing tea in the autumnal breeze. Every bit of the day still glows in my heart from the delicious snacks everyone shared to the artesian well water lovingly heated over charcoal to the moments of sipping away silently together. Making space to simply BE together is worth celebrating.

The symphony of various brewing methods was glorious indeed. The day began with a special oxidized Korean tea served by Scott Norton. Greg shared the Urasenke method of whisked matcha tea. Lauren served bowl tea with a sidehandle teapot. Ting served gongfu style. The day ended with me serving cauldron boiled tea.

I would like to extend an extra special thanks to all of those who served and volunteered, especially Ting, Scott, Gordon, Lauren, Greg, Dexter, and Heman. The teas were profoundly vibrant and soul deepeningly warming. As Wu De teaches, Tea is 80% cleaning, thus all of your help loading in, boiling, and packing up demonstrates great tea spirit. Thank you for your work in sharing the peace that Tea offers to all that partake in the New York City schlep.

We were blessed to see many faces return from Summer Tea and greet new folks (two even fresh off the plane from Sweden to run in the NYC Marathon).

I look forward to seeing what winter's inward turn will bring and how we can come together again in the chilly months to come...Winter Tea...

With Love + Light + Steaming Ladles of Tea,

Erika
